She signed on the day I was born.
and is always by my side, sleeping or awake,
she takes good care of me, monitoring
my every breath like a presidential guard.
She keeps me calm by controlling all of my
autonomic nervous system, suppling more
air when I need it, and slowing down the pace,
when it’s time for me to let go and go to sleep.
She is most alive at each breathing turning point
where she must make an immediate decision
of what I need most in the next moment of my life.
I would never go anywhere without her.
