HABITUDE
Aliveness squelched,
no feelings please—
since you don’t care
about living a life
in black and white.
You are a prisoner
of a boring routine,
a robotic worker
on an assembly line.
There are moments
when you look up,
and catch a glimpse
of a world out there—
but mostly, you don’t
pay attention.
You plod along
like a tired horse
wearing blinders
to not see anything
except the endless
long road ahead.
You are stuck in a rut
with lackluster eyes,
trapped in a routine
that breeds contempt
and kills spontaneity.
